It’s almost closing time for the year 2017. Time to look back and reflect!
Winner of 2017: Ed Sheeran
The year 2017 began great for Ed Sheeran. His long awaitedthird studio album Divide finally hit the shelves back in March and his work was nominated for countless music awards. Unfortunately the English singer-songwriter had topostpone part of his world tour due to a broken arm, but apart from that, Mr. Sheeran had quite the year! Here’s his memorable performance at the Grammy Awards.Ed Sheeran – Shape of You @ Grammy Awards
Noel vs. Liam
It’s no secret that the Gallagher brothers have a rocky relationship and a massive brawl in Paris caused Oasis to call it quits back in 2009. 2017 might be the year of the Gallaghers: the siblings both released a new studio album. Noel Gallagher started a new band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and this year they released their experimental third studio album Who Built The Moon? You might have heard something about his new band member: a woman is playing the….. scissors! Herb scissors, I might add!Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – She Taught Me How To Fly @ Live with Jools Holland
Liam Gallagher’s first solo project, Beady Eye, could not emulate the successes his older brother had with his band NGHFB and Beady Eye broke up in 2014. But Liam Gallagher rose from the ashes this year with his solo album As You Were.Liam Gallagher – Wall of Glass @ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
One Love Manchester
To raise money for the families who lost their loved ones in the Manchester attack of May 22nd, Ariana Grande and many other artists held a benefit concert. Ariana sang the Wizard of Oz classic ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ and there wasn’t a dry eye left.Ariana Grande – Somewhere Over The Rainbow @ One Love Manchester
Rag’N’Bone Man’s rise to fame
The characteristic English singer-songwriter scored a massive hit worldwide with his debut single and album ‘Human’, and has won several awards. What’s more to come? We would love to hear new material!Rag’N’Bone Man – Human @ Pinkpop
Best live act of 2017
2017 was a great year for The XX. The British indie pop band released their third studio album I See You this year, went on tour and performed at numerous festivals. Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith certainly know how to make people dance. So in case you missed it, here’s a full live performance from The XX.

Song of the summer of 2017
Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi scored a massive hit with ‘Despacito’. Even Justin Bieber was a big fan of the song and remixed it (and of course scored a hit with it too).Luis Fonsi – Despacito (ft. Daddy Yankee) @ Conan
While the Belgian indie rock band Balthazar was on hiatus, guitar player Jinte Deprez started his own solo project under the name J Bernardt. After releasing his first solo studio album in 2017, he performed at several European festivals.
The ‘honourable’ mention
British comedian Michael Dapaah went viral with the quirky song from his alter ego Big Shaq’s ‘Man’s Not Hot’.
Chester Bennington (Linkin’ Park), Fats Domino, Charles Bradley, Malcolm Young (AC/DC), Tom Petty: we had to say goodbye to several great musicians this year. But their music will live on! Tom Petty – Free Fallin’ @ Shoreline Amfitheatre, 1994
The internet is filled to the brim with performances by various artists and bands. Unfortunately, the best live performances are often shadowed by mobile phone recordings with loud shouting audiences in the background. In Autoplay we put the best live performances by an artist in one playlist. So put an end to going through thousands of videos on Youtube; all you need is an update from the Autoplay-list.More Autoplay
