Spoiler AlertMetallica Is On Tour Again! This Is What You Can Expect

When Metallica is on tour, then you're in for a long one, because a Metallica tour can take years. The European leg of their latest tour started this week in Denmark. Let's have a look at the reactions, stage and setlist of the WorldWired Tour.

It has been too long since the last proper stadium tour of this legendary metal band. Back in 2010 they celebrated their release of Death Magnetic and now, 6 years later, we can finally celebrate the arrival of their 10th studio album: Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct. The tour started on February 6th, 2016 and is scheduled to end May 2018 with their final concert being in Helsinki

As with most Metallica tours, the setlist is never really... 'set'. They change their setlist almost every performance and they are also known to ask for input from the audience before the show. Nevertheless we can definitely find some consistencies. At every gig they play all 6 songs of the first disk off their new album, mixed between fan favourites like 'Seek & Destroy', 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', 'Sad but True', 'One' and 'Master of Puppets.' Interestingly enough they have also chosen to perform one of the covers they've done in the past (from the Garage Inc. album) like 'Breadfan' or 'Am I Evil?'.

Metallica went for something else this tour. The WorldWired Tour stage has the unusual quality of being centered in the venue, having the crowd all around. Above the stage, there are 52 video cubes which constantly go up and down during the show. There are also 100 drones which appear out of the stage during 'Moth Into Flame' and weave a wicked series of paths around the stage before disappearing back from where they came. Indeed, there's a lot of eye-candy to absorb, but there's also some some good old fashioned pyro and fire. It is a production that keeps you moving.

Seek & Destroy is on the playlist! This means you can spot Robert Trujillo doing his trademark stage spin!
