Just a little from now and the newest record of The National is finally there. On September 8, the new album Sleep Well Beast will be available, exactly 1544 days after their previous record. The associated tour kicked off last night in front of 1200 lucky fans in Philadelphia, US. Later this year, the tour will bring them to the UK, back to the Us, then to Europe, again to the US to finish in Australia. If you already want to know what to expect, you can just continue reading.

The National was formed in 1999 in Ohio en has been touring ever since. The band, formed by Matt Berninger and two pairs of brothers is considered to be one of the biggest indierockbands around and they have a solid live reputation. Continue reading to find out what their current shows will look like.

Setlist

We're not sure whether this setlist is the base for the rest of the tour. The National played the new album Sleep Well Beast in full, after which they concluded with 3 songs from Boxer and 'Terrible Love' from High Violet. It's remarkable that they didn't play many of their biggest hits, like 'Bloodbuzz Ohio', 'Mr November' or 'I Need My Girl'. They didn't even play a single song from their most succesful record Trouble Will Find Me.

Pay attention to the extension of their live band! This might only have been for this first show, but it is completely possible they will be present the whole tour.

Of course, some fans also delivered great pictures.
