Stop Making Sense is a 1984 concert film featuring a live performance by Talking Heads. It was shot over the course of three nights at Hollywood's Pantages Theater as the group was touring in support of their new album Speaking in Tongues. One of the special features on the DVD is a series of interviews in which David Byrne interviews... himself. Like he says several times: “It’s like 60 Minutes on acid.”

In the interview Byrne is playing both the role of interviewer and interviewee. In a matter of minutes, he changes character, moving from lady Byrne to an African American male, from punk to an older gentleman. All this while he is revealing the origins and principles of the film. And somehow it all makes sense...

David Byrne

David Byrne was the founding member, prime songwriter and lead singer and guitarist of new wave band Talking Heads. After they disbanded, Byrne has released many solo recordings - among which classical music - and also left his musical tracks in theatre and film. For his work he has received Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe awards and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
