Essential Music NewsWatch Coldplay Perform The Welsh National Anthem With The Crowd

Last night, Coldplay performed at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. They ended their show by performing the Welsh National Anthem. Coldplay invited two members of a local choir to sing 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau', which is the Welsh national anthem for over 100 years.

Coldplay lately is very generous with inviting people on stage and they've delivered some very special moments on their current tour. Last month they invited a 19-year old fan to perform 'Everglow' with them and they performed Stromae's Formidable in Brussels

Yesterday in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium Chris Martin asked the crowd if they could sing a song for them, instead of Coldplay singing for the crowd. 'We've sung 22 songs for you and we wondered if you would maybe sing one song for us', that's what Chris asks the crowd at the end of the show. And so they did. Coldplay provided the instrumental part, while two members of a local choir and the crowd provided the vocals of the National Anthem. Watch the emotional end of the show below. Goosebumps.
