During the Amsterdam Dance Event 2018, We Speak Music hosted an interactive lecture on the history of dance music. We did so in the Ziggo Dome, just before the final concert of DJ Hardwell.
Hardwell gave a very unique show during the Amsterdam Dance Event 2018. Together with the biggest Dutch pop orchestra Metropole Orkest, he took the audience on a trip through 40 years of dance music. As if that wasn’t special enough, this also turned out to be the last show of the famous DJ for a long time. This all took place in the 17K-capacity Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
Before the show started, We Speak Music hosted an interactive lecture in one of the lounges that Ziggo Dome has to offer. To give attendants a little bit more depth to the show, we gave them a crash course on dance music. Starting with the likes of Donna Summer in the 70’s disco, all through the synthesizer 80’s and the housy 90’s to the EDM-packed new millennium.
During that half hour, people also automatically participated in a quiz, testing what they actually already knew about the classics of this genre. The person who did best won a official Hardwell x Metropole Orkest merchandise shirt.
Thank you for everyone who attended. If you weren’t there, you can get a little impression of the evening below. We hope to see you in the future!
