The new albums for September have some beautiful tunes in store for us. Some of these have been long due, such as Paul McCartney’s new work years after his latest album, or Black Honey’s debut album. Others, like Kodaline’s Politics Of Living, we’ve had to wait for longer than anticipated. Nevertheless, we are thrilled to start September with these scheduled releases.

1. Paul McCartney – Egypt Station

Release: September 7

On June 10th this year Paul McCartney began posting cryptic photos of symbols on his Instagram account. It could only mean one thing: the British pop star has a new album on the way. It has been five years since the release of Paul McCartney’s last album NEW and now it’s time for a brand new album, Egypt Station. Shortly after the announcement of his 17th solo studio album, McCartney released the catchy single ‘Come On To Me’. We’re not sure if we are more excited about this new album or the prospect of a world tour!

2. Kodaline – Politics Of Living

Release: September 28

Can you believe it has been 6 years since we were first introduced to Kodaline? Their debut album In A Perfect World immediately put the band on the map, with singles like ‘High Hopes’, ‘Love Like This’ and ‘All I Want’. At the start of 2015 Kodaline released the follow-up single ‘Coming Up For Air’. This record sounded much more electronic than their debut work, so we are curious to see where Politics Of Living will take us. The band received an EBBA award in 2013 and their music has been used in dozens of films and series, for example the film for The Fault In Our Stars and the FIFA 17 game. Of course the new record will be followed by a European and American tour. We’ve got our tickets ready!

3. Black Honey

Release: September 21

Earlier introduced to you in our Coffeebreak, we may now finally expect the debut album of bashing Brits Black Honey. The first singles off the new album, ‘Bad Friends’, ‘I Only Hurt The Ones I Love’, and ‘Midnight’ gave us three intriguing different sounds, so we are curious to see what the album as a whole will bring. The tracklist for the new record was announced in June, ensuring us some of our older favourites such as the neat tunes of ‘Hello Today’ and ‘Dig’. Known for their edgy vibe and raving guitar riffs, Black Honey promises to please their audience. All in all, we are more than excited to see what themes Black Honey’s debut explores and how this is executed into new sounds.

4. Alt-J – Reduxer (remix album)

Release: September 28

Great news for Alt-J fans who’ve played Relaxer over and over again! The British band will release a remix album of their latest record this month. Relaxer was released mid-2017 and was immediately nominated for the Mercury Prize. Nothing new for the band, as they had already won this prestigious award with their debut album An Awesome Wave.

Now Alt-J will release a remix album from their own record: Reduxer. The album will contain remixes of all 11 songs from Relaxer. Big names from the hip hop scene like Pusha-T, Danny Brown, Twin Shadows, Goldlink and The Alchemist are added to the record. The band has already given us a taste of their new work by releasing a remix of ‘Deadcrush’ by Danny Brown and The Alchemist. Will this be as genius as Relaxer, but just a bit different? Discover Reduxer on September 28!
