The War On Drugs
The War On Drugs is an American indie rock band. The band was founded in 2005 by Kurt Vile and Adam Granduciel. Kurt Vile left the band in 2008 and The War On Drugs continued under the direction of Adam. A few years and 2 albums later, the band released their break through album Lost In The Dream in 2014. In 2017, The War On Drugs released the album A Deeper Understanding, which was received with great responses as well. They received a Grammy in the category Best Rock for it.

Clips from the podcast
In the podcast we discuss a number of topics and we listened to different songs. Wijnand spoke with the band at Down The Rabbit Hole in 2015, where he saw the band live for the first time.
The most famous track of breakthrough album Lost In The Dream is ‘Red Eyes’. One of the few suitable radio songs of The War On Drugs, but also with that specific sound.
Under The Pressure
‘Under The Pressure’ was also a single from Lost In The Dream. One of the first acquaintances of Wijnand with the band. In the podcast Wijnand tells you exactly what to look out for when you’re listening to this track.
‘In Reverse’ is the song with the specific intro in which Wijnand heard the sea, but what actually turned out to be an effect of Adam’s guitar. It takes you 7:41 minutes, but you won’t notice that if you listen to it. Listen to the podcast to hear Wijnands introduction to this song.
We close the podcast with ‘In Chains’. This track is from the bands latest album A Deeper Understanding.
