Later this year, we’ll be able to enjoy a biographical musical drama film about Queen named “Bohemian Rhapsody”. It will focus on the 15-year period from the formation of the band and lead singer Freddie Mercury, up to their performance at Live Aid in 1985.

Bohemian Rhapsody was first announced in 2010. Since then it had many changes in cast and production team. There was also a lot of speculation if the film was ever going to be made. At first, Sacha Baron Cohen was supposed to play the part of Mercury, but Queen members Bryan May and Roger Taylor were afraid that he was too well known as a comedian and prankster, due to his roles in Ali G and Borat. In 2013, Baron Cohen left the project due to creative differences, but still on good terms. Eventually, the film was being fast-tracked once brilliant actor Rami Malek was announced to play the iconic Freddie Mercury. On January 29 2018 filming had ended, so now we just have to wait for this spectacle!

Bohemian Rhapsody opens on October 24 in the UK, and November 2 in the US. Get excited!
